ACID RAIN

Acid Rain refers to the any precipitated or suspended particles snow , dew etc that are acidic.They are caused due to the industries and thermal power plants that release innumerable quantities of sulfur and nitrogen everyday.These gases react with atmospheric moisture there by forming nitrates,sulfates ,sulphuricacid and nitric acid droplets.These compounds when emitted on a particular place may be transmitted even to hundred kilometers downstream and may spoil the soil and vegetation .

They are mostly due to SOX and NOX compounds.They greatly disturb the global ecologic balance.Similarly the other notable causes of acid rain are mainly due to the release of freon from technological products damaging the protective ozone layer of earths atmosphere.Some of the tragical impacts caused by acid rain are Germination of seeds is affected which affects the growth of trees,Stone cancer or stone leprocy,it affects the soil fertility and beneficial microorganisms are reduced and humans are subjected to various skin problems when exposed to acid rains.
