CELL PHONE VIRUSES AND SECURITY

Like the internet, today even the cell phones are going online with the technologies like the edge, GPRS etc. This online network of cellphones has exposed them to the high risks caused by malwares viruses, worms and Trojans designed for mobile phone environment. All these can lead to overload in mobile networks, which can eventually lead them to crash and then the financial data stealing which poises risk factors for smart phones. As the number of cell phone user’s increases and cell phone technology advances, the concern with security issues and cell phone viruses grows.

The precautions we take with our mobile handhelds should be similar to those we take with our computers. When you’re looking for downloads to customize our cell phone, like ringtones, games and wallpapers, steer clear of the peer-to-peer sharing websites. We should always keep our Bluetooth setting to “non-discoverable” or “transmission disabled” when we are not using it.

or Trojan horses might instruct our phone to repeatedly call a number, it sends our voicemails to a different location or it might destroy our phone’s operating system. We should never keep credit card and other important information on our provider’s servers. Technology can make our lives easier and more entertaining; however, with technology comes new frauds and threats. By taking a few simple precautions, we can save our phone and our personal information.
