
Indian great golfer C.Muniyappa won the 1.25 million-dollar price of Indian Open Title on Sunday in play role off against South Korea’s Lee Sung. This is the first Asian tour Card of Muniyappa achievement. He drained a 10foot birdie putt on the par five 18th at the Country Club and DLF Golf.
The Bangalorean Chinnaswamy Muniyappa, 32 year old had the first playoff hole after he leading at the beginning of the day and finally end of the day round closed with a two-under-par 70 and Lee finished with a 69, help by a birdie on the last. Totally the pair f tied on 12-under-par 276. He received $198,125 for the victory, only he has earned from his 10 other 10 Asian Tour Event’s seem paltry.
“I only came here to try to keep my first Asian Tour Card. Indian open was only when I got to the play-off that my tour card was secure”, said Muniyappa.
“I learned the Indian open game by watching members at the country club”, he said. He birdied nine and seven for a solid front nine.
