Tennis is a game played with a racket and a ball by two persons as in singles or four persons as in doubles competitors, on a rectangular court with a net strung between the midpoints of the longer sides of the court. Tennis may be played both indoors or outdoors. The game ranks as one of the most popular sports in the world. This game has many fans and competitors in all over the world. In past originally this game is called as lawn tennis to distinguish it from the sport of court tennis, from which it was derived, the game is now commonly known as tennis.

RULES:

  • The player winning the toss can choose to serve

  • In singles, two people play, one on each end of the court.

  • In doubles, two players at one end play against two players at the other end.

  • The player can choose which end to play from in the first game even

  • The ball must land in the court on your opponent’s side of the net.

  • To start the game, one player stands behind the baseline, just to the right of the centre service mark.

  • Opponents stand on opposite sides of the court.

  • The player who delivers the ball to start the point is called the server. The player who stands opposite and cross-court from the server is the receiver.

  • The server always calls their score first. If the server wins the first point, he or she will get a score of 15. Scoring is done like a clock.

  • A ball that lands on the line is good.
